  • About

Just 35 miles Northeast of Paso Robles in the beautiful Cholame Valley sits the tiny town of Parkfield, California with a population of just 18 people. This one block town is home to the Parkfield Cafe and Lodge, unique log buildings built by John Varian. In the Parkfield Cafe all of our meat is cooked over an oak BBQ pit and is proudly served on local fresh baked bread from Brian's Artisan Bread Co. Across the street from the Cafe sits the Parkfield Lodge that offers ten of one-of-a-kind cozy rooms, including the 100+ year old Parkfield Post Office and Water Tower, and the luxurious Cowboy Cabin.

Parkfield is also home to the V6 Ranch, who offer the chance to be a cowboy on authentic Cattle Drives and Trail Rides where guests are taught ranching skills aboard expertly trained ranch horses.

Parkfield is primarily a ranching community surrounded by pristine landscapes crafted by the San Andreas Fault that runs just parallel to town. Parkfield's proximity to the fault and its reputation as the most studied spot on earth for earthquakes has earned the town the title of ''Earthquake Capital of the World.'' This valley was given the name ''Cholame'' by the Tachi Yokut tribes that used to call it home, meaning ''The Beautiful One'', a name it lives up to each and every day. Take a leisurely drive out to Parkfield and experience this unique little town and all it has to offer.

“Maybe it's the adventure up the mountain or the windy roads. Maybe it's the gorgeous scenery or the fresh air - but life is just better up here, including the food.” - Yelp Review by McKenzie S.
