Stacy Salame Named Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of SLO County 



[SLO County, CA – March 18, 2024] – Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County proudly welcomes Stacy Salame as its new Executive Director. With an impressive track record in community engagement and a passion for youth development, Stacy brings a wealth of experience to the organization. She will begin her tenure on March 25, 2024.
 
Stacy’s dedication to mentorship and community building has been evident throughout her career. Having previously served in leadership roles within public education, business, and the nonprofit sector, she is well-poised to lead Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County into a new era of impact and growth.
 
In 2001, Stacy earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from SMU’s Cox School of Business and spent extensive time in the corporate sector developing high-revenue customer relationships for Fortune 500 companies. Transitioning her career to public education, Stacy's passion for supporting youth and families led to her success as a Bilingual Teacher. In 2014, she participated in the GCISD School Leadership Institute and earned recognition as Timberline Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year and The Grapevine Courier’s “Best of the Best” Teacher. Stacy obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas in Arlington in 2016.
 
Stacy most recently served as the Director of Communications & Outreach at Lumina Alliance. During her tenure, she supported the integration of Stand Strong and RISE communications and development efforts after the agencies’ merger in 2021. She also served on the Lumina Alliance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee from 2022-2024, and as an Ambassador with the San Luis Obispo Chamber in 2022-2023. Additionally, she spent four years as a member of the San Luis Obispo Rotary Club, serving two years on the Board of Directors.
