[San Luis Obispo, CA, January 5, 2022] SLO Partners, one of the leading providers of apprenticeship programs in California, today announced details of a new Modern Manufacturing bootcamp starting in February 2023. The program will provide hands-on training and a fast track to careers in technical manufacturing locally on the Central Coast.

“We have a 90% successful hire rate from bootcamp grads who complete the course successfully and are hungry and ambitious to enter the industry,” said Paula Mathias-Fryer, Senior Director at SLO Partners. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for locals who are looking to retrain or upskill to secure career opportunities here on the Central Coast.”

The six-week training program will teach students the skills needed to work in the field of cutting-edge manufacturing. Projects will include building and flying a drone, building and programming a robotic arm, and wiring a remote control car.

“The manufacturing hub on the Central Coast is bustling, and at Rantec we are ensuring we stay competitive,” said Eric Henderson, Director of Manufacturing at Rantec Power Systems, the bootcamp sponsor. “The products we build in Los Osos can only be built here. Our products required high-tech, complex, and reliable manufacturing processes; which is what we are able to do here in California. I’m excited to pull in talented people from the local area and see where their careers can go, given the opportunity here at Rantec.”

The Modern Manufacturing bootcamp is from February 6 to March 16, 2023. Classes are from 5.30 PM to 9.00 PM, Monday to Thursday at the San Luis Obispo County of Education. Tuition is $149.

People of all ages, from 18 years old, are welcome to apply. In the last SLO Partners cohort, the age of students was between 19 and 59. No prior experience is required.  Jobs pay from $18/hr and up, depending on experience.
